The Heavy Aluminum Hub wagon wheel is built using a cast aluminum hub, hickory spokes and felloes (wood rims), and a steel tire. Although these wheels are designed primarily for decorative applications, they are sturdy enough to hold a considerable amount of weight. These wheels have been used on garden carts and display wagons, and will hold several hundred pounds. Since there are no bushings or bearings in the hubs, they will not wear well if rolled around a lot, but will stand up to minor, light use. Since the bore is 7/8” inside diameter, a bronze or steel bushing may be easily added. Available in 24”, 28”, 32”, 36” and 40” diameters.
